Fly Fishing Virtuoso By Mead Schaeffer (Lithographic Print)

Lovely piece from one of the most celebrated illustrators of the 20th Century, Mead Schaeffer (1898-1980) (who grew up in Springfield, MA) "called himself a grandchild of Howard Pyle." He studied at Pratt Institute and developed a tradition of the Brandywine School. Early illustrations of romance and adventures stories and became one of the most sought after and highest paid illustrators in the world working on sixteen classics for Dodd, Mead Company.
This is his take on Fly fishing and is embellished with USPS Fly fishing stamps. 22.5" x 18.5" visible 13" x 11". Excellent wood frame. A really great Father's day gift!
