On October 3, 1933, Singer commissioned the first batch of 10,000 model 221 sewing machines, marketing them as the Singer Featherweight. Sought after for a number of other reasons besides its diminutive size. The Featherweight is splendidly designed and constructed. A half-size machine made from aluminum, it weighs slightly more than 11 pounds. Great Collectors Item.
