this is a BEAUTIFUL piece. . . .its had a lot of restoration over the years (they ALWAYS do). . .the original hinges were replaced (long holes are empty now). . .and new ones look painted over . . . . very strudy and well done. . . .nice typical craquelure finish. . .loys of touchup here and there . . . .with mother of pearl inlay. . . .ALL HAND PAINTED . . . .very beautiful . . . .key is decoration. . . .lock not functional. . . .
