Beautiful Nantucket Basket Purse with scrimshaw plaques. The basket is hand-made of natural rattan reed and cane basketweaving materials with hardwood base, lid, swing handle and basket rims. It is in excellent condition and features oval scrimshaw plaques by artists David Lazarus and Elizabeth W. Belding.

David Lazarus is a longtime member of Four Winds Craft Guild. He first mastered the art of Scrimshaw in the 1970’s which then led him to printmaking and eventually to painting. His work hangs in collections throughout America and Europe. He is one of the most sought after artists working on Nantucket today!
