Item Description

Arthur C. Danto (AMERICAN, 1924-2013), original Expressionist/Modernist woodcut pencil signed and titled "Maiden". Arthur Danto was a renowned art critic and philosopher, but was active as a printmaker in New York in the 1950s. This striking woodcut is from that period in his career. Overall size with frame is about 18" by 24". It is signed "a. Danto" and titled "Maiden" in pencil in the lower margin. Framed and matted under glass. I have not removed it from the frame.

Consistent with age and use.
