Item Description

Irish architect Eileen Gray designed her E-1027 table in 1927 for her E-1027 house. It was originally designed so that people could eat breakfast in bed - it pivots, and an inventive key mechanism keeps the table at the desired height. One of the most enduring designs of the 20th century, the E-1027 adjustable table has been in the permanent collection of MoMA since 1977.
