Item Description

This comes from Auguste Racinet's 6 volume series published between 1876 & 1888 titled "Le Costume Historique" and was the most comprehensive study of clothing ever attempted to that period. This piece was taken from that series and details styles of Japan. 15" H x 10.5" W. Retains great color. Stamp on back indicates derived from a public library in Indianapolis many years ago date undetermined.
