Charak “Danbury” 1930s Dining Table And Twelve Chairs

1930’s finely made "Danbury" Table by Charak. This table features beautiful banded inlays bordered by a pencil line stringing inlay design. This tabletop sits on a beautifully carved base with 4 curved legs with reeded trim work. It opens to a large extended dining room table with the addition of 3 leaves. In reading about this popular vintage table, I learned that when the leaves are removed, the table top turns and the two sides can drop down, taking the form of a classic drop leaf table. I have not personally tested this to see if it works! However, all descriptions of Charak’s Danbury table mention this feature.

The table comes with twelve beautifully carved splat back dining chairs with charming custom English style garden and wildlife upholstery.

All pieces are in fair to good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age.
