Satsuma marked Shuzan The Shimazu clan Mark has a high Moriage relief depicting almost Kabuki actors in scenes. This dates 1915-1925.
The Vase has a high quality and fine crackled glazing and the yellowish earthenware body does not ring when tapped, a sign of high quality earthenware.
The design is superb with 24K gold enamels.
