Antique Large Stoneware Crock Pottery Signed Warranted Fire Proof Yellow Ware Mixing Bowl. An excellent item to add to your stoneware crockery collection. These stoneware bowls are getting more and more scarce. Condition is Good. Holding together nicely, noted crack in one area and surface cracked around part of the base. Showing signs of age and usage. Chip at spout and chipped around foot. Actually quite nice for its age. Wear does not detract from the beauty and potential functionality of this rare pottery. Please see our closeup photos.Vintage yellowware stoneware crock bowl we believe is 1869 - 1870.Features golden yellow cream color glaze with ornately decorated raised scrolled foliate design on sides. Also has a raised band around top rim. Blue cobalt marking on base is a large diamond with "Warranted Fire Proof" and initials plus there may have been more that is now unreadable . Philadelphia City Pottery, Pennsylvania, USA is the maker according New England Historical museum source. Rare and hard to find. I think this would hold several gallons. Very large with generous size spout .An excellent example of yellow ware stoneware used in homes, farms and industry during the later parts of the 19th century. Despite the signs of age and usage this will be a great looking and potentially useful item for your household or collection.Approximately 13 13/16" inches at widest including generous size spout, 12 7/16" inches diameter and about 6 1/16" inches tall. Foot is 6 1/2" inches diameter. Weighs 6 Lbs. 9.8 ounces.
