An antique solid oak Bankers Office Chair from The Milwaukee Chair Company, Pat. Oct 20, 1914.
The Milwaukee Chair Co supplied the US House and Senate from 1889-1940. Milwaukee Chair Company, once the largest American manufacturer devoted exclusively to the manufacture of fine office chairs. The company was organized in 1889 by John Bostwick, a local jeweler and son-in-law of Barnum Blake. He was one of the largest investors and eventually owned most of the shares and became president of the company. It was destroyed twice: the first time by a huge, devastating fire in 1899 and the second time by demolition in 1959. justanswer.com
