Item Description

Magnificent example of hand woven masterpieces of a detailed Dragon and flowers. Framed under glass - the frame is 48 1/4" tall x 48 1/4" wide x 1 1/4" thick.
The visible art area is 44" tall x 44" wide. I can see the minor crease lines from when a previous owner, decades ago, had this folded for safe storage.
In the 1930's & 40's there was a very high tax rate in the UK. One of the top 5 Surgeons in the UK wanted to minimize his income taxes and accepted this Dragon Tapestry as payment for medical services. It was already an antique at that time. Our estate owner's Mother inherited this in 1960.
**NOTE- The last 4 photos show the Wilton golf course that this fine home is on, the family crest and a book that was published in 1997 about the 6th & 7th generation Davidson family whose estate sale this is for. ( The book is not in the sale. )
