Exquisite ERNHARD & SOHN Repousse Brass Box with Lid
Fully Lined with original bengaline moire
The raised design on the box is very dramatic and finely executed, typical of the fine craftsmanship of Erhard and Sohne. In addition, the height of the box makes for a very distinctive look.
The lid fits inside the body of the box and is not hinged.
Box is larger than most, measures 10' x 6" x 3"
Note the Erhard and Sohne hallmark clearly visible on the underside of the box with "Germany."
This box is nearly 100 years old and does show signs of age, there are some very minor dings and dents. There is 1 tiny crack on the bottom rim, 1/8" long. The brass has a very warm glow, I think the metal is a hybrid between brass and bronze as it does bot have the super shiny look traditionally achieved in brass. Please review photos.
The lining is original and has some light stains, but the fabric is other wise in good shape, there are no tears or disintegration.
