Item Description

Walborg unique wicker-like vintage woven bag, body is 8” x 6”. Walborg Co. was founded by Hilde Weinberg in New York City in the late 1940s. She designed purses that were handmade in Belgium, France, Italy, and West Germany. Walborg beaded purses were popular in the 1950s. By the late 1950s, some Walborg purses were being made in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The company was in business until at least 1963. Walborg bag is paired with a lovely black woven handbag, with gold toned hardware. This measures 11” x 7.4” when laid flat. Both are in fair-good vintage condition- see photos for signs of wear.
