The first artwork piece presents a set of Spanish musicians. The print is signed in pencil to the lower right, and depicts a flutist and cellist playing in traditional dress in a palette of red, green and brown. The right piece is a signed Limited Edition lithograph numbered to lower left in pencil, “116/120”, and signed at the bottom right depicting a Spanish guitarist in traditional dress in a palette of yellow, green and red. These prints are presented under glass frames with a gold tone strip. ÀLVAR SUNOL MUNOZ-RAMOS, also known as Alvar (born January 29, 1935), is a famous Spanish painter, sculptor and lithographer. He is one of the few remaining living Modernist artists depicting musicians. At age 18, he won the Young Painter's Prize in a competition sponsored by the city of Barcelona and his painting was acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona for its Permanent Collection. Alvar works in watercolor, oil, ceramics, engravings, sculpture, lithography, graphite drawings, murals and monuments. His works have been on display in over 40 museums (exhibitions and permanent collections) and over 95 galleries and museums throughout the United States, Europe and Japan!
