A Vintage Jefferson 500 Desk Clock, Late-1950s

Originally produced in 1958 and designed to represent a ship’s compass, the Jefferson 500 may be the most popular of the desk or paperweight clocks produced by Jefferson Electric. It's a solid clock made of die-cast zinc alloy, in a polished chrome case with satin-finished chrome surrounding the dial face, and a high-impact, satin-finished black plastic base plate. The patterned, black metal foil dial face features brushed brass hands with a red-lacquered sweep second hand. It's a gorgeous piece. The clock powers up and appears to work, but the gears are noisy; it may have dust in the case and need a good, internal cleaning. Approx. 5.5" tall, 5" diameter. Please see pics.
