The fold out table, green cushions and the original curtains are included. The leather handle atop is gone as are the dolls and other accessories. This is a great example.
An American Co, Playskool , the Pullman Railroad Car. Designed by a preschool teacher in the late 1920s and made around 1930. The Pullman was only manufactured for a very brief time, perhaps only a year, before the Great Depression put a stop to the toy's production. It was designed to resemble both a Pullman train car and a little suitcase. The leather handle made it easy to carry on a real train trip.
Made of metal, that unfolds into a section of a pullman car with opposing seats, folding table, upper berth and porter's closet. It will snap closed to be stored or carried. It is painted burgundy with the logo "Sleep Dolly Sleep" and "Playskool" in gold. Inside the compartment it had green cushions for the seats - 2 sets of 3 each. 2 green mattresses for making up the beds as well as 2 sheets, 2 blankets, and 2 pillows. There were 2 green pieces of a cardboard type material to cover the windows. To cover the compartment there are 2 green curtains. A few of the original accessories are included, see photographs.
