A 19th Century Hudson River School Oil On Canvas, A. Palmer, From The Famed Amrita Club In Poughkeepsie, NY

A piece of Hudson Valley history, this was purchased from Cal Smith auctions in the 1990's, before which it was acquired at the liquidation auction of the Amrita Club in Poughkeepsie. A famous landmark building, it stands today in Poughkeepsie. This piece depicts a sheep meadow. It has been restored, despite the slight craquelure to the finish and there is paperwork for the restoration. The period gilt and plaster frame has some minor condition issues, but it is original. Restoration done by Julian Fishburne.
