Offered for sale is this very low mileage 2001 Chevy K3500 dually 4x4 extended cab, with the 8.1 liter naturally aspirated Vortec V8 producing 340 horsepower and 455lb-ft of torque.

There are 35,790 miles on the truck, averaging 1,600 miles per year. The vehicle has been in closed storage for many years, and was recently removed for sale. Title in hand (see second to last photo above).

Auction Managers' Observations: Overall, this Chevy 3500 is part of an estate including various vehicles/motorcycles/heavy equipment. It was recently removed from storage (stored for many years), and being offered for sale. It has extremely low mileage for its age, sitting at 35,790. It includes the Vortec 8.1 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. It is also equipped with 4-wheel drive, including options for 2HI, 4HI, and 4LO. Additionally, the truck is equipped with Dexter Predator DX2 Trailer Brake Controller for towing.

Cosmetically, the truck is in good to very good condition. No dents were observed, aside from one scratch on the hood (see closeup photo with clear tape covering the scratch). Given that the truck has been in storage for many years, the tires appear to have dry rot on the sidewalls, and will need to be replaced. The interior of the vehicle would benefit from a good cleaning (vacuum and wipe down of seats/dash). The bed of the truck has a Chevrolet bedliner, and items will be removed prior to the truck being picked up. The rack on the truck is removable and can be taken off if desired.

Mechanically, given that the truck has been in storage for many years, it required a jumpstart, and immediately started and ran during the auction managers' observations; however, subsequent attempts to restart the truck without a jump were unsuccessful, so it will need new batteries as they would not hold a charge. There appears to be no mechanical problems with the engine. All of the lights (front/rear) were tested and in good working order including headlamps (hi/lo), blinkers, brake lights, and reverse lights. The stereo/dash/air conditioner/windows/locks were operating normally.

Due to the truck being stored/unused for many years, it is recommended that the vehicle be inspected by a professional and have appropriate maintenance work conducted such as fluids flushed/replaced, new tires, a new battery, and any other maintenance procedures, after purchase.

The winner should plan to have the truck trailered/towed due to the condition of the tires, the need for new batteries, the truck being low on gas, and unknown condition of the engine fluids (oil/coolant/trans fluid/brake fluid/etc).
