2 Gorgeous New Martinsville / Viking Clear Glass Squirrel Bookends

Possibly pre-1960 maybe late 40's, however there is no date on these items. The piece stands about 5.5" high on a rectangular base which measures about 6" by 2.25", no chips or faults seen. New Martinsville glass is often seen in the $40-50 range online. New Martinsville Glass Co. Opened 1901 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, Records indicate that the mold for the squirrel design was completed in February, 1942. There is a lot of confusion among collectors regarding whether these figurines are Viking or New Martinsville. The new Viking company retained all of New Martinsville’s molds and continued production through the 1950s.
