Item Description

An elegant and timeless example of an iconic Swiss-made timepiece. c. 1960s, Switzerland, glass paneled case with exposed mechanism.
The Atmos clock is an ingenious and truly environmentally friendly device; no batteries or winding needed. Within a sealed capsule, a mixture of gases expand and contract with each temperature change. A one degree variation in temperature will power the clock mechanism for approx. two days. The power consumed by a 15 watt light bulb could run 60 million Atmos clocks simultaneously!
Dimensions: 7" W x 5 1/4" D x 9" H
Condition: untested, clock has some wear and will need a good cleaning.
