Charles Francis Livingston or “C. F. Livingston”, was a printer from Manchester New Hampshire in the 1800’s and he printed for the State of New Hampshire as well as publications that were quite popular. He printed a series of works covering the New Hampshire troops that participated in the Civil War as well as many other books.
This is a brief but cryptic note, obviously to a fellow printer, referencing Mr. Livingston giving him a copy of Benjamin Franklin’s “Poor Richard” and quipping that all printers are poor…Stains, cut signature with old mounting remains and pencil notations.
