Ornate Bronze And Porcelain Hand Painted Jar

Up for auction is a highly ornate porcelain jar. The jar’s body sits on top of a bronze base. This piece is highlighted by its incredibly intricate handles and bronze details on the lid. The dark blue color of the vase is striking and sophisticated, creating a vivid backdrop for the piece’s hand painted motif. Depicting classical Rococo scenes, this vase shows two period women in different states of undress, executed in shades of blue, red, and yellow. As is typical of the Rococo style, nature is present in each scene whether it's directly outside of the window or a swan in the tub. It’s completely painted by hand and composed of porcelain with bronze details. The vase has never been used and measures 18 inches in height, by 14 inches long and 10 inches deep.
