In 1963, to celebrate the 70th birthday of Chairman Mao Zedong, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China established an editorial committee headed by Kang Sheng to edit and publish “Chairman Mao’s Collection of Thirty-seven Poems”, which Chairman Mao personally reviewed and approved. Based on the publication of paperback and thread-bound edition copies, 10 special cinnabar copies were printed for Chairman Mao's personal collection and presented as gifts to international friends of China. Cinnabar ink book using the Imperial Palace collection "imperial" cloud pattern Xuan paper, with cinnabar toned ink, collotype printing, and special silk covers, demonstrating the emperor's style, are considered highly desirable and sought after by Chinese and global collectors. In order to meet the needs of the collecting community, heritage press, in accordance with the production process of the 1963 edition of “Chairman Mao’s Collection of Thirty-seven Poems", released the cinnabar ink edition for the first time, with limited edition of 999 copies.
