What got you interested in secondhand, vintage, and antique items?

Growing up internationally, it was always fun to visit the local markets. I love finding out what the region's speciality is – for example Mallorca, Spain is known for producing ikat fabrics and Venice, Italy for their murano glass.

What are the one or two things you always find yourself bidding on or searching for when shopping secondhand?

I’m constantly drawn to colorful pottery, original art, and silver. 

What’s your absolute favorite item you’ve ever purchased at an estate sale or online auction?

A pair of green Chinoiserie figurine lamps I found at the back of a dusty antique shop! I had them rewired and added glossy black shades. They now sit in my formal living room and add just the right touch of whimsy and charm.

Any tips or advice for online auction or estate sale newbies?

Shop with an open mind—you never know what you’ll stumble upon. And always check the measurements! Items can appear smaller or larger in photos than they actually are.
