In this weeks' edition, Kayla Burmeister (@RoseHillVintage Shop) shares her favorite finds of the week. Kayla grew up along the coast of Maine, and has been estate sale hunting and antiquing since an early age.
When she’s not working during the week as an event planner or at the beach during the summer months, she’s thrifting, bidding on online auctions, or perusing antique stores. She loves the thrill of the hunt and never knowing what she will find!
She now resides in Massachusetts, and shares and sells her finds on Instagram.
We had an opportunity to chat with Kayla about her personal style, her favorite AuctionNinja finds and any advice she had for fellow bidders. Check out Kayla's picks below and keep reading to learn more about Kayla.

AN: How would you describe your taste/style?
KB: Traditional and classic with a twist. I love to add whimsy and character to my decor! I’m definitely a “grandmillennial” in lots of ways and inspired by the past. I admire British decor because I love how they can layer and mix patterns without looking cluttered - everything looks stylish and lived in. Nautical New England also influences me a lot - our staircase wall has paintings of ships and harbors all the way up!
KB: Entertaining items! Definitely plates, glassware, napkin rings, serving pieces, etc. You can find such interesting and amazing pieces at wonderful prices. The quality and personality of antique plates are great to mix and match with your current dishware. They make having dinner way more fun - if I have people over or not!
I am also always on the lookout for one-of-a-kind furniture I can add to my home.
KB: It’s a tie between a gift for someone else and a gift for myself! My husband enjoys history and loves the 1700s, and I had been trying to find a unique gift for him. I won an amazing framed 18th century lithograph of a ship on the ocean. It was such a memorable and original gift!
I also won a gorgeous set of 6 Bordallo Pinheiro blue basketweave plates. They are discontinued and hard to find, much less a set of 6! I love them so much and use them frequently.
KB: That’s a hard one, I love everything I purchase! I recently won a Henry Link bamboo style Navy dresser that was such a great find. It’s such a gorgeous piece and I love looking at it every day!
I’ve also won some incredible designer clothing and accessories for significantly less than retail, which always makes the purchase more exciting!
KB: If the sale doesn’t explicitly say no shipping, don’t be afraid to reach out to the sale manager and ask. A lot of times they can coordinate shipping for smaller items for an extra handling fee and/or shipping cost. I’ve been able to purchase some great finds by just simply asking and being flexible to turnaround times. However, ask before bidding!
