AAFA Amazing Early American (clever) Folding Inscribed E.H. Morphing Book Form/Footstool Earnest Hemmingway

Please look at the pictures carefully this is a beautifully carved camouflaged (trompe l’oeil) book that when you pull it out of the bookshelf it’s a little stool it’s so cute.
The inlay is actually handling all the way through the wood so it’s almost like a puzzle piece set in for each letter. This Early American (clever) Folding Inscribed E.H. Book-Form that morphs into a small Footstool, was purchased at a church sale in Oak Park Illinois in the 1980s.

The person at the church said it had belonged to Earnest Hemingway. (She actually said she thought he might’ve made it as a child in shop class or something (?) well I cannot attest to the provenance, looked up of Park Illinois and Hemingway did live there. So I’m passing along the story.
