1936 Venezuelan 5 Centimos (Bolvar) Coin ~ Frick Provenance {World Coin I}

Fascinating antique great gift for a young numismatist collector (or love token :- )

Think of it ::: a coin is really a flat disc double sided sculpture and should be regarded as such. The artistry involved in creating such tiny wonders is awesome and the history is both humbling and fascinating.

We are selling off quite a few foreign coins. We know nothing about coins. We are not researching them. We are not grading them. Sold as pictured/as is. Good luck.

General: Circular shape with plain edge.
Obverse: Circular rim with dot beading. In the center, over the field, the face value "5 CENTIMOS" within two laurel wreaths of 12 leaves and 18 berries, both linked from the bottom.

Reverse: Circular rim with dot beading. In the center, over the field, body of the Coat of Arms: in a chief, wheat; on the second one, two swords and two flags; on the third one, a wild horse running toward the right looking at left (from the viewer's perspective). Above, seven stars (the fourth one being the center and bigger), that represents the seven provinces that signed the Venezuelan Declaration of Independence. Surrounding the field, the country name "ESTADOS UNIDOS DE VENEZUELA" «United States of Venezuela». In the exergue, the year.

Provenance:
This is just one item out of a huge stash of clothing, accessories, coins and household items from the Henry Frick estate; the Railroad Magnate. The woman who acquired them originally worked as a ladies maid out on the Frick’s Long Island estate. We purchased them directly from her great granddaughter, a lifelong Danbury resident, who had been their careful and respectful guardian for many years/decades.

Now out into the world once again!
