Horatio Seymour was an American politician. He served as Governor of New York from 1853 to 1854 and from 1863 to 1864 and was the Democratic Party nominee for president in the 1868 presidential election, won by Republican General Ulysses S. Grant. Seymour died February 12, 1886, aged 75.
This portrait has been consigned to AHGUSA by Horatio Seymour’s Spinster “Great-Great-Great”Niece - a Danbury, CT resident who is now, herself, 82 years old.
Portrait is still in original painted gold oval plaster frame with mill beads under glass. 22” Tall.
