Stanley Sutton Shaw (American, 1912–1983): "Fire!: [World War II Battle Scene with GIs and Howitzers], original limited-edition etching, circa 1942, titled and numbered in pencil at lower left "Fire! 40/3" and signed at lower right "Stanley Sutton Shaw" beneath "Shaw" ink stamp, plate size approx. 9"x 7-1/2"; sheet size 10" x 8-1/4"; early mounting to pressed cardboard measuring 12" x 9-1/2".

A scarce original work from this World War II veteran, graphic artist, and longtime employee/executive at the Shaw-Barton advertising company in Coshocton, Ohio.

Notes: A bit of very minor marginal soiling; mounting as noted with stray paper remnants to mount (all of the faults well outside the plate and easily matted out as evident from the cropped photo above); otherwise near fine, clean, attractive condition. A strongly printed example with fine details and rich tonal range
