Kay Kandra (American, born 1937): Two watercolors on handmade paper depicting peonies, 1980, each signed and dated at lower right, sight sizes approx. 12-1/2" x 9-1/4", each attractively double-matted under glass in matching brass-finished metal frames measuring 19-1/4" x 15-3/4". One frame back bears an informational sheet on the artist.
The artist's website notes, "Kay Kandra's artistic style varies from the traditional to the impressionistic to a modified abstract. Her paintings are included in numerous private and corporate collections. She graduated with honors from the Philadelphia University of the Arts with a BFA degree in art education. She subsequently engaged in extensive post-graduate studies in drawing, painting, and print making. She painted and taught classes and workshops in scenic New England for 25 years where she developed a reputation as an accomplished painter and mentor. In 1990, she moved to Annapolis, Maryland with her husband. . . .
