FINE AND LARGE VINTAGE STUDIO POTTERY CASSEROLE BY WILLIAM CREITZ WITH PAINTED FLORAL DECORATION

Very fine and large studio pottery covered casserole by William Creitz, Oregon, mid-to-late 20th century, the buff stone body of circular form with lug handles, the slightly domed lid decorated with abstract irises or similar flowers in deep blue with brown stems, the body finished in an allover clear-over-pale gray crackle glaze with subtle touches of red, 12" wide overall by 7-1/4" tall overall, the underside signed "CREITZ."

A particularly large and striking example from this foremost, well-respected Oregon-based potter (1907–2015).

Notes: A few small glaze skips, otherwise very fine, attractive condition, with no cracks or chips
