Scarce compote or comport in Pattern No. 39 (aka Pennsylvania) by the O'Hara Glass Co., Pittsburgh, ca. 1876, pedestal foot, the flaring body with alternating smooth and diamond-point panels, deeply scalloped rim, the concave domed lid with large finial in the form of a hand grasping a hexagonal rod, approx. 9-1/2" tall overall.
A seldom-seen example of this most distinctive and unusual of EAPG patterns.
Notes: A few chips to rod (with only nominal disruption of profile); a bit of minor roughtness to inner rim of lid; otherwise very good, attractive condition
