Antique - Bowler Bros - Celluloid Match Safe

This is an advertising match safe for Bowler Bros. Brewers, Worchester, Mass., both sides the same, one edge marked "Tadcaster Ale" and the other "Matchless Porter." In fine print at the bottom of one side its marked "Pat. Jun 6, 1905, The Whitehead & Hoag Company, Newark, NJ." The patent date refers to patent #791,503, the process of printing, transfer of color to celluloid. Its approximately 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches with a striker to the bottom. Very good condition with a strong lid, shows some age wear to plating and celluloid.
