Gorgeous Ring Marked 14 K - Unsure

This is a gorgeous ring marked 14 K. It is very heavy and made quite well. I am however Unsure if this is 14 karat gold. It did not test to be gold with my gold testing kit. Regardless the ring is beautiful and the diamonds or cz would weigh out to be more than two carats.
