Jean Reasoner became Jean Reasoner Plunket when she married in the 60's, so this is an early portrait. She was a sought after portrait artist on the East Coast and especially in the Washington DC and Virginia area, where she captured the images of over 12,000 of the children of diplomats, socialites, and politicians. She wrote a book: Faces That Won't Sit Still: Celebrated Subjects by a Prominent Portrait Artist and How They Were Captured (1978).
