This is a 45 RPM record of a folk song called "The Black River Valley" by Erik Johansson, a local Cavendish teacher and folk singer. He was in opposition to the proposed Black River Hydro Project. The song references the loss of land and property residents of Perkinsville experienced when the Springfield Flood Control Dam was constructed in the 1950s.
