From 1937-1940 Wilson used the catalog designation 505 for the Gus Mancuso, "Grease Set Pocket" catchers mitt. Then in 1941 Wilson used the catalog designation 505 for the "Professional Model" built on the same pattern as the GM Gus Mancuso Personal model. In 1949 Wilson changed the catalog system from a 3 digit number to a Prefix letter "A" followed by a four digit number. The Wilson 505 Professional model was given the catalog designation A2490.
The hand-molded tan color cowhide catchers mitt features a special hand-formed asbestos felt and jute felt pad; inner Grease-Set Pocket, bound crouch leather bound edge, band stitched to palm, leather laced thumb web, and adjustable leather laced wrist strap lined with wool shearing.
Consistent with age and use.
