Roger Coast (American, 1932-2019) Zinc Engraving

This framed zinc engraving is dated 1972. The process in which Roger Coast (from Ohio) created these works of art are outlined in a newspaper clipping included on the back. Originally a pen and ink drawing, the artist enlarges the images and then reduces them onto metal. The drawing remains raised 1/8" in shiny zinc while the background becomes a black matte finish. Although a small piece, it is truly a spectacular work of art. Mr Coast passed away in Jan. 2019 and was a gifted artist who was well known across the USA.
