Assorted Knowles Dinnerware, 1938 / 1939

These pink dishes were the 'good china' whenever anyone visited my grandparents, from their marriage in 1940 to when they replaced them with some ugly heavy Pfaltzgraf stuff.

Like most manufacturers in the era, Knowles made identical settings in sky blue, mint green, and butter yellow. Think how Fiesta came in multiple colors, as did Harlequin. But this pattern -- sometimes referred to as Deanna -- also has other colors to mix-and-match with.

Don't worry yourself. I'm not getting rid of grandma's wedding china. These are simply spare pieces. There are chips on the rims here and there. These dishes are over 80 years old.

Along with the pink dishes, this lot includes several pieces of the blue service and the green service.
