B. Moody 1971 1/1 Monotype print entitled ‘Loneliness’. Has two places of damage, see photos, but they have been repaired using acid free museum conservator’s invisible tape. Some edge staining from previous mounting as well as remains for tape used for the mounting. An interesting piece from the 1970’s abstract art movement.
Measures: 10.25 by 8 inches and is unframed.
Reference: 206-197.
Monotype is a direct process that yields a one-of-a-kind print. The design is drawn with ink, paint, or other material(s) on the metal or glass plate, and the print is taken. Since most of the ink or other drawing material generally transfers, only a relatively pale “ghost image” is possible as a second print.
There are two Barbara Moody’s, one in New England and the second one from the San Francisco area. One graduated from California Art and the other from Syracuse and Harvard. Which one this piece was made by is unknown.
Notes: two tears but repaired with conservator's tape. See images, otherwise good.
