1853 Duties of discharge as selectman and other duties for Augustine Symonds Peabody of Topsfield; Born March 8, 1811—1884, he married Helen A. Dodge in 1833 and they had seven children. He was a selectman for the town of Topsfield and was discharged from his duties on March 10th, 1853.
Deacon Augustine Peabody was the son of John Peabody (1784-1840) and Lydia Symonds (1786-1813). His occupation was as a farmer. A newspaper clip from the Salem Gazette on November 1878 Augustine Peabody was on the Republican Delegate selection Committee to send representatives to the General Court. Selected members went to the Republican convention as representatives of the Massachusetts 13th district of Topsfield. He passed away in 1884.
