Item Description

Scarce vintage pitcher by the John B. Taylor Company, Louisville, Kentucky, circa 1940s–1950s, of bulbous/ball form in buff stoneware hand-decorated with the image of a cowboy in ten-gallon hat and woolly chaps holding a guitar, approx. 7-1/2" tall, with the script "John B. Taylor Ceramics" mark with initials CS/SC (probably those of the painter).

One of the scarcest combinations of form and pattern in this style of stoneware produced by Taylor.

CONDITION: A few usual manufacturing flaws (small irregularities and glaze skips) and a touch of very faint, subtle crazing, otherwise fine, attractive condition, with no cracks or chips.
