Book Of Illustrations By Jules Guerin - Listed Artist - Illustrations From The Book "The Holy Land" 1910

Much of this auction comes from a very special estate in Northern New Hampshire. The owner of the estate was a very selective collector of fine items. One such item is the book in this lot. This book contains 19 illustrations done by Jules Guerin - listed artist - from Wikipedia:

"Jules Guérin (November 18, 1866 – June 14, 1946) was an American muralist, architectural delineator, and illustrator. A painter and widely published magazine illustrator, he gained prominence for his architectural work such as in the 1906, Plan for Chicago, and for the large murals he painted in many well-known public structures such as the Lincoln Memorial."

The illustrations in the book were used in the book: "The Holy Land" by Robert Hichens published in 1910. According to AbeBooks, the book contains 17 color plates by Guerin. This book contains 19 color plates. The color plates in this book measure 5.5" x 8" and are all matted with a title underneath. This book appears to have been custom made. There is no evidence of a publisher. Book covers are blue cloth. The pages are an "album" type of page with plastic protecting the plates. A very nice item.
