Can't say enough about how easy the whole process was. The crew at Privet were very helpful with loading the items on to my truck and they even called the next day with a cover for the patio set that wasn't even mentioned in the auction.
Whether you're bidding online or just walking around their store in Riverhead, they are always helpful and the pricing is fair and reasonable.
I do miss the Quogue location though. I highly recommend!!

I show up to pick up the item & am told, after waiting 5-10 minutes, ooops, we double listed it &, well, the other purchaser came already. We will give you a refund. I drove 30 minutes to pick these 2 lamps up & then had to drive home through Hampton to NYC traffic. I'd also brought my 12 yo daughter with me, for whom the lamps were intended. I say to the gentleman I was dealing with that " I drove 30 minutes here so you're going to pay for my gas," because I was frustrated & tired after working an overnight shift & cut short my sleep for this now-wasted trip. His reply to me was breathtaking, "you don't have to be nasty." He disappears as I hold my tongue, & returns with $40 in cash, the items with tax were under $35. Gee, thanks. He also suggested that I go to his wife's consignment shop in Riverhead, & she will make good on this, she's been working really hard & I'm sorry. Thanks but no thanks. Then, as I'm driving home, his wife calls me & offers to refund my money on my credit card in addition to the $40 cash her husband gave me. She was the only bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant & completely avoidable experience. I told her to keep her money & that her husband had made me whole. He hadn't but that's besides the point, isn't it? Telling a woman, whom you've inconvenienced & made spend unnecessary money & waste time, not to be nasty says it all. I have participated in dozens of auctions & have never had an experience like this. I will vote with my feet & spend my money/time elsewhere.
