Walter Addison, New York, 1914-1982. Grouping of 88 post cards from the New York Zoological Park, later the Bronx Zoo, and opened in 1899 - these postcards probably early 20th century, all unused; the lot also includes other related ephemera including Walter Addison biographical notes, various wild life magazines, a Guide to the New York Aquarium dated 1937, etc. Provenance: Consigned by family. All artwork, photos and ephemera were found in his cottage in Washington Depot, Connecticut, on the banks of the Shepaug River, where he lived with his wife Rhoda from 1965 until his death in 1982.
