"The Ladies Waldegrave" is a print of a 1780-81 portrait by SIR JOSHUA REYNOLDS now in the Scottish National Gallery, who acquired it in 1952. it depicts the 3 daughters of James, 2nd Earl of Waldegrave and Maria Walpole. Left to right, Charlotte, Elizabeth & Anna. It was commissioned by the subject's mother in hopes of attracting suitors for the 3 unwed girls. Sir Joshua Reynolds, a contemporary of Thomas Gainsborough was the first President of the Royal Academy and was knighted by King George III. Unframed print size is 17.5" x 12" Framed 24" by 20.5"
