Rare Antique framed map of Nova Anglia - New England region & British colonies by Johan Baptist Homann. Johann Baptist Homann (1664-1724), was a German geographer and cartographer who also made maps of the Americas. This unique map has its provenance in the Elisabeth Babcock Estate of Woodbury, Long Island, New York. Elisabeth Babcock was first cousin of John D. Rockefeller, and her Gold Coast Mansion was featured in magazines and periodicals of the day. The map features the north east provinces and British colonies of the 17th Century. Map has visible center crease and several tears to the paper. Please see photos for condition. The map has been professionally framed. Map measures 22.5” x 19”. Frame 30” x 27” The last 3 photos are of the Elisabeth Babcock residence and if you look closely, you can see the maps on the wall.
