Rare Antique framed map of New York & New Jersey with province of Quebec engraved by Matthew Lotter. Engraved and published by Matthew Albert Lotter from the topographical observations of C.J. S Authier 1777. Mathew Albert Lotter, 1741-1810, was a German engraver and cartographer. This wonderful antique map features the provinces of New York and New Jersey, with a part of Pennsylvania and the province of Quebec. Provenance of Elisabeth Babcock Estate of Woodbury, Long Island New York. Elisabeth Babcock was a first cousin of John D. Rockefeller, and her Gold Coast Mansion was featured in magazines and periodicals of the day. Please see photos for condition. Please Note there is a center crease and some foxing to the paper. Map measures 19.5” x 15.5”. Frame measures 26.5” x 23” The last 3 photos are of the Elisabeth Babcock residence and if you look closely, you can see the maps on the wall.
