Hand-Beaded Wire Basket And Handmade Doll With Bead Accents. Indigenous & Southwest Folk Art.

on a metal wire frame. Accompanied by a handmade doll featuring beige fabric,
black yarn hair, and red bead embellishments on the body. Basket and doll show
minor wear consistent with age or use. Both crafted in a style common to
contemporary Indigenous and Southwest folk art. Circular basket features a
“webbed” or “spoked” design with concentric white and black accents. The
structure is reinforced with a wire or stiff fiber frame to maintain its bowl
shape. It is designed primarily as a decorative “trinket” or “spirit” basket.
The Cloth and Bead Doll are dressed in a traditional-style outfit with red and
pink beadwork trim along the “fringe” of the dress. These are often referred to
as “Traveler Dolls.” Basket measures approximately 6 inches in diameter.
